The scope of the conference:
The nuclear industry is facing a new challenge, decommissioning of old plants is already underway (and planned for many years in the future), and now alongside this is the changing attitude of politicians, environmentalists and public which will result in new nuclear build.
This new build will make an even greater contribution to the minimisation of global CO2 emissions, and reduce our dependency on other forms of energy generation.
The nuclear industry will need to develop and maintain its demonstrably high standards of safety whilst operating in an environmentally and financially challenging arena.
The transport of radioactive materials will play a vital part in this renaissance - we must continue to strive for excellence in safety and operations in conflicting regimes of enhanced security and stringent cost-effectiveness. This conference will provide regulators, operators, users, buyers and designers of transport packagings with the opportunity to exchange experience and to update their awareness of the latest trends and developments.
Join us in Manchester to contribute to the response of the transport community to the nuclear renaissance.
